  • [SIT-7] Temple Stay at Golgulsa Temple / Gyeongju & Busan (7D&6N)
  • The Temple Stay Program is to give a chance to experience Korean Buddhist traditional culture that well preserved cultural property and practice of Seon meditation. This basic 24-hour overnight program provides participants to relax, reflect and revitalize themselves so this experience could make them to be positive and to elevate their life. Templestays offer various kinds of practicing methods such as Yebul (ceremonial service involving chanting), Chamseon(Zen meditation), Dado (tea ceremony) and Baru gongyang(Buddhist formal monastic meal). Participants can find their 'true self' amongst the harmony of nature while staying at a temple.

Meet a guide at hotel lobby - Bulguksa Temple [UNESCO World Heritage] is one of Korea's best known temples, a testimony to both the skill of Silla architects and the depth of Buddhist faith at the time - Seokguram Grotto [UNESCO World Heritage], the carving of the granite dome of Seokguram was a truly amazing architectural feat - Daereungwon Tomb Complex(Cheonmachong Tomb), a collection of royal Silla tombs from the Pre-Unification Era - Cheomseongdae Observatory, is the oldest existing astronomical observatory in Asia. It was used for observing the stars in order to forecast the weather - Anapji Pond the largest man-made pond dating back to the Silla era - Back to hotel

Meet a guide at hotel lobby - Gyeongju National Museum, a place of compelling interest, preserves much of the Silla heritage including magnificent gold crowns, pottery, Buddhist artifacts and stone sculptures - Temple Stay Program at Golgulsa temple

Temple Stay Program (Main Activities)

Devotional Chanting at Yebul, Ceremonial Service (Yebul)
Yebul is a ceremonial service to praise Buddha. This solemn ceremonial service is held 3 times a day; in the morning, midday and evening helping to clear one’s mind.
Zen Meditation (Chamseon)
Zen is known as “Seon” in Korean. Chamseon is a form of meditation that allows a person to reflect on oneself.
Buddhist Formal Monastic Meal (Baru gongyang)
Baru gongyang is a unique and special way of eating in Korean temples. At this communal meal practice the meal is eaten in total silence, and not a single grain of rice is wasted.
Tea Ceremony (Dado)
Making and enjoying good tea is one of the practices of the Buddhist religion. Koreans say that there are several ways to enjoy good tea. One should start off by enjoying the sounds of water boiling, and then relax with the soothing aroma of tea and seeing its soft and subtle colors. Lastly, one can feel the warmth of the tea radiating through the cup as they slowly savor the taste.

* There are many other activities to participate in such as Lotus Lantern Making, impression making with ink and paper, and folk games available at Korean temples

Temple Stay Program (Early morning worship, Learn the manner with the monk) - After the temple lunch, leave for Busan by coach(1hour 30min) - Busan Tower at the top is an observatory where the entire city of Busan can be seen - Jagalchi Fish Market is the largest fish market in Korea - Gukje Market offers delicious Korean food such as gimbap (steamed white rice and various ingredients rolled in dried seaweed), sundae (steamed cow intestines stuffed with various ingredients), and noodles - C/IN hotel & Take a rest

Meet a guide at hotel lobby - Cheongwadae(Blue House) Road for a photo opportunity in front of the residence - Gyeongbokgung Palace was established in 1395 as the residence for the founder of the Joseon Dynasty - Nat'l Folk Museum, located inside the Gyeongbokgung Palace, houses some 4,300 relics dating back to the prehistoric age that shows Korean culture and tradition, from clothing to food, to archtecture - Insadong(Antique Alley) is famous for streets filled with the flavors of tradition and is universally well-loved by tourists - N Seoul Tower is a prominent city landmark.
